The window on the top right beside the URL window used to be my google search. Now its not a search at all and when I click the pull down to Manage Search Engines it brings me to Mozilla plug ins and I can't just choose Google as my search engine to work in that window. It's VERY annoying. Seems to be since some kind of plug in installed, surf canyon and also a Sea something was on the page showing up.

Hello HPitters - I don't exactly understand the issue you're having, and I'm not sure what Sea something might be, however, if you would like to remove Surf Canyon, it is easy to do so. Simply open Firefox and select "Tools" from the top menu. Select "Add-ons" and then click the "uninstall" button next to Surf Canyon. The browser extension will be removed the next time you restart Firefox. Should you need more assistance, please feel free to contact us using http://www.surfcanyon.com/contact.jsp.

Cheers, Mark

Hi, thanks for the reply, I'll try to be clearer. There is a search window on the top right hand side of my Firefox browser. It used to function as an internet search tool using Google as the search engine. For some reason, since Surf Canyon and Sea Monkey have installed themselves onto my system - this window doesn't serve any function at all. It does have a drop down that says "Manage Search Engines" which used to allow me to choose which engine it would use when I entered a phrase into the window. But now that menu selection brings me to Mozilla plug ins and the search windows still doesn't work. Hope that makes the problem more clear! I will try to uninstall the two add-ons and see if that helps too.

"SeaMonkey", if that's what it is, is a Mozilla-powered complete web browser. You do not get that by accident. Has someone been at your browser?

In XP you would normally need to go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs to uninstall Sea Monkey.
