Webmail problem. Logs on to talktalk OK, but I cannot access the messages in the inbox.

more options

I use www.talktalk.co.uk/mail as my email account. I have 2 computers. One runs Windows XP and Firefox 3.6.18 - and that one works just fine with talktalk webmail. The other machine runs Windows Vista and until the past couple of days used Firefox 3.6.18. Within the past couple of days I have changed to Firefox 5 on this machine and now, although it still connects to www.talktalk.co.uk/mail just fine, I now get a message "You have undefined new mails in your inbox". I cannot access the inbox, and the Contacts list appears empty (or I cannot access it). This has only happened since I went up toFirefox 5. However, using the same machine (Vista) but using Internet Explorer as the browser, all works perfectly with talktalk webmail. this leads me to think that it is nothing to do with talktalk, but is something that has happened as a result of my going to Firefox 5. I am not very knowledgeable about the workings of computer software, so if you are willing and able to help me, please keep it simple and detailed. I need my hand holding!!

Regards, Geoff

Yep, exactly the same problem only on W2K SP4. Firefox5 doesn't work but IE (on the same machine) does.

Sorry, I'm not sure what version version of IE is being used.

(It's the PC at work that has the problem and I'm writing this at home on my linux box which has Firefox version 3.6.18 for linux mint - which also works fine.)

I really hope this can be fixed soon.

Andy.

Many thanks Andy. Whilst the problem is still terribly frustrating, I take comfort from the fact that I am not alone, and it doesn't just seem to be my finger trouble!!! Here's hoping there's a "fixit" out there that somebody can offer us.
