My firefox is crashing again and again

my firefox is crashing again and agian. I disabled all the plug ins, Add on's, and themes, but firefox is still crashing. You are running a VERY old release of Firefox. You should update to at least Firefox 3.6.23 -> http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html. Your best bet is to update to the latest release, 7.0.1 -> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

nothing's helping. disabling addons, uninstalling-reinstalling after system clean up, reporting problem to firefox through crash reporter. everything has gone down the drain. completely lost. cannot even open "about:crashes" page. firefox crashes while loading the "about:crashes" page. desperately seeking help
