Downloading latest FF update has disabled my Norton toolbar - not compatible - can't force it to work so how do I revert to earlier FF where Norton t/bar DID work??
I responded to call to upgrade to latest FF version and downloaded, but now find my Norton toolbar and IdentitySafe ( from Norton 360)doesn't appear. I have downloaded Add on Compatibility Reporter and tried to forced the add-on to work, but it shows Norton toolbar as not compatible with FF6. How can I revert to an earlier FF configuration, i.e. reverse the upgrade, where I was quite happy and Norton toolbar worked? I have tried a Windows System Restore to earlier today, in the hope it might remember, but of course it doesn't.

Run Live Update through Norton. There are updates for Norton Internet Security 2011 and Norton 360. If that does not work for you see the following.
Norton Internet Security 2011 and Norton 360 5.x. fix for Firefox 6: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Update-Available-Firefox-6-0-Compatibility-Patch/td-p/512484 (scroll down to "Update Available: Firefox 6.0 Compatibility Patch")

Hi SafeBrowser,
Many thanks for your prompt reply, which gave me new hope! However, despite following all your links , searching through all the Norton support, having the latest version of N360,running LiveUpdate and restarting etc, the Norton toolbar just wouldn't reappear on FF6. If I use Internet Explorer8 , which I do rarely, then the toolbar is there, as expected! Why IE8 and not FF6 - it's a mystery to me.
However, I have managed to solve it by lateral thinking. I also have a laptop, which I realised was running the pre-upgrade Mozilla Firefox. I simply deleted the FF6 program files from this computer and copied the Firefox Program files from the laptop. Voila ( as the French say), when FF is started the Norton toolbar and IdentitySafe are back, and I'm happy again.
It still leaves the question of why this computer won't recognise N360 and FF6, when I have followed all the processes which should ensure its compatibility.
It also means that until I find the answer, I can't take the chance of upgrading Firefox again, but I'm prepared to live with that . At least I have time to look for the answer.
Anyway, thanks again for your suggestions.
Best Wishes
