Problem with typing

I really don't know how to say this but I will try my best. On the search engine results page after I have done a search, if I click in front of the word I searched and try to type something else in front of the word, it will type one letter in front of the word and then the curser jumps to the end of the word and continues typing. This is what it ends up looking like, { mfirefoxozilla } What causes this and how can I fix it?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The problem still occurs in safe mode with add-ons disabled and did not occur until I upgraded to Firefox 6.
