I am using Firefox 7.0.1 on my Mac OS 10.7.2, and there's no "Import" option on the File menu so I can import my bookmarks from Safari.

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

Sorry, but there's no Bookmarks Library off any of the items on the menu bar, including the Bookmarks menu. How do I get to it? And the link you gave me just repeats the same thing about going to Import under the File menu if I want to import from Safari--which is why I wrote in the first place. I think the link's info is out of date for a 7.0.1 browser on a Mac.

Under the Show All Bookmarks there's no Import & Backup option.

At the top of the Bookmarks Manager there are 3 buttons (Organize,Views,Import & Backup) on the toolbar next to the Back and Forward button.

  • The first button is the Organize button with basic edit menu items for bookmarks
  • The second button is the Views button that allows to change the sort order for viewing purposes (doesn't sort permanently).
  • The third button is the Import & Backup button that allows to backup and restore a JSON backup and import and export an HTML backup

Hover each button to see the tooltip or click each of them to see what they do.

I'm away from my computer until day after tomorrow, so I'll check this out on Friday, but I looked and looked before and I did NOT see "Bookmarks Manager," OR "Library" under "Bookmarks" on the top menu bar. Again, I'm using 7.0.1 for a Mac. Is it possible that I got a corrupted version? I'll recheck when I return.

"Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in Firefox 4 and later.
