Firefox crashes

more options

I just installed Firefox 8.0 on.. i7 Based Based Computer, OSX Lion All current Patches, 6 GB Ram, 1TB HDD, Nvidia Graphics.

After I complete the FF DMG Download, I install the New Version and I check Addons to make sure everything is current. The Addon Check tells me that i need to install a New version of Java for Lion, I download the DMG and run the installer. Exit FF and restart the Computer.

After I restart the Computer and go back to FF, the Addon Checker still tells me that Java Plugin still needs to be updated.

The Specific Crash comes when i try to use Yahoo Mail and or Exit Yahoo Games.

My guess is its java plugin related with FF8.0 on Lion.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
