How do I remove the Google search box from the middle of the home page? The toolbar box is enough for me.
I'd prefer a blank home page, and suddenly this big Google search box with the Mozilla logo is occupying the middle. The cursor automatically goes to this Google search, and usually I start in the address bar over-riding 'about blank'. Many thanks for any suggestions which I don't find in the tools/options menu.

If you like to keep things simple, here’s how to set your home page in three easy steps.
- Open the web site you want to set as your home page. If you want a blank home page, open a new tab.
- Click the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button, and release. Home page Win1
- Click Yes to set this as your home page.

Try it out: Click the Home button and your new home page will load in the current tab. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

For a blank homepage
- Options > General, set "When Firefox starts:" to "Show a blank page"
- See --> Options window - General panel
