When I upgraded to Firefox 9.0.1 I lost quite a few of my bookmark icons. Now the icons are just empty boxes. How can I get my icons back? Thanks!

Icons missing in the Bookmarks menu

Icons (favicons) for bookmarks in the Bookmarks menu may be missing after updating to Firefox 9. To restore them:

In the Location bar, type about:config and press Return.
The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
In the filter section type, image.mem.decodeondraw
Double-click the entry that results to change it's value to "False"

   Close the tab

Quit and Restart

I tried the about:config suggestion and it did nothing. Thank you anyway for trying. I noticed when I visit a site I have bookmarked the favicon is restored so it looks like the Check Places Add-on listed above may do a good job of restoring all gazillion of them. Thanks again.

"about:config" solution worked a treat. Thanks!

No one has a concrete way of getting back your bookmarks.. Does Firefox have a team of people that can answer this question?

Since the thread owner has marked the issue as "solved" I'm locking this thread.

shizloc, you asked for a concrete way of getting back your bookmarks. Check the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article. For lost bookmark icons on Mac OS, See Latest Firefox issues.
