After having an email account with them for years, I am considering deleting it althgether. Today I noticed Yahoo changed its home page, leaving too much up to the user to redesign it with too much of his own personal information. In some places the words on the page overlap with one another. It is too much trouble to search through their groups to find an appropriate one to post a question. Since I use Firefox to access Yahoo, I thought that the moderators or users would know of a solution if there is one since I am inclinded to quit using Yahoo if it cannot provide a presentable home page, which was my default under Firefox.

Hi troothteller,

You might want to take a look at the Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should Knowledge Base article to see if it's just a display issue. There could be a technical reason that the text is jumbled. If it isn't a display issue, you might want to leave feedback for Yahoo! before you decide to leave completely.

Hopefully this helps!

Matt, thanks for your reply. Right now I am viewing the Yahoo Home Page in SeaMonkey and it looks normal. I am going through the article for which you provided the link. My guess is that a plug-in needs enabling.

The problem is worse that I realized. While trying to submit feedback to Yahoo, I noticed that the submit button does not work. Usually reloading the page unfreezes these links that otherwise do not work while clicking. In this case reloading does nothing.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thanks for your posts. It was Tylerdowner's that cleared the problem. I spent yesterday looking at the few extensions I have and was not able to fix the problem. Now the page appears as it had before. Thanks, again.
