CouponDropDown after FireFox Update
After the last update of Firefox (to version 16.0.2) I get random words on a page of a site that are underlined. These underlined words link to sites where I can win stuff. When I put my mouse cursor on them I see a text saying: Click to continue > by CouponDropDown. I don't want this, how do I turn it off?

hello loekd, this is likely caused by either the 1clickdownloader or the utorrent toolbar that you have installed - please remove/disable them in firefox > addons > extensions to get rid of the adware...

Thanks very much! It seems to be gone...
I have the same issue, i dont have either of the mentioned toolbars installed, nor any addons. Have tried several adware removing programs and none seem to manage to do anything. Clearing my cookies reduced the amount of highlights, but its still there.. Spent a couple of hours on this, do i really need to switch to another browser to get rid of this?
hello smoothbdx, the original poster of this question has provided a list of all his installed extensions and customizations, that's why i've singled out those 2 addons particular. in your case it might be something different - again, please have a look into firefox > addons > extensions and remove/disable everything that looks suspicious. you could also try to reset firefox.
I did reset Firefox, and it seems to have done the trick... wasnt any addon though, since i have very few of them, they where easy to cross of the list ;) But thanks for the reply :)
One of my add-ons was "Yontoo" that I don't recall even installing. Once it was removed, the problem of CouponDropDown was gone.
I have this problem on all of my computers and operating systems. On all the windows based machines I could remove the addon in about:addons but in linux this doesnt work as all of the addons are accounted for and I know what they do.
This is either propagating because of my sync settings or it is part and parcel to firefox 16.0.2.
This makes my doing web development much more difficult as code is injected into the pages I am debugging with firebug.
How can I get rid of this under linux???
Thanks this worked for me as well-annoying little piece of trash now gone :)
I had nothing unusual in my extensions. I still had the problem. I had to reinstall linux because of it.
See Info on this web-page, scary stuff.

Not sure how it gets installed by regardless this does not sound good: "It injects ads and affiliate codes in product links directly by modifying web pages HTML content." I wound say this is worse than adware.
