I deleted a spam received through Yahoo Mail. I could no longer open my Yahoo Mail through Fire Fox. I would get a blank page at the bottom left corner of which says: "waiting for uk.mg41.mail.yahoo.com". However, I have no problem opening Yahoo Mail through I.E. I think the spam came from this site: http://upley.ru/index.php which I had never visited.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Problem seemed to be with Fire Fox as I could access my mail account through I.E. Problem was resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling Fire Fox. This is the second time I get this problem. I think Mozilla Org. should look into this. Thank you for your support.
