hello, you can just download the latest release version from getfirefox.com & install it on top of your current installation in order to go back. there shouldn't be compatibility issue with firefox beta on windows xp though - did you experience any particular issues?

Went to getfirefox.com and could not find version 19. Thanks
Tried it one more time and I am back to running normal again. Thank you.
It should have a download option, I see it as a green box aga inst a Firefox icon.
- Otherwise use http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
It would be interesting to know what the incompatibility is between your system and Firefox 20. (Let's sort it out before you run into it again in a weeks time)
Firefox 19.0 release is the green download button on getfirefox.com .. mozilla.org or you can choose the OS and local at Systems & Languages link below green button.
The system requirements for the Firefox 20.0 Beta 1 are the same as for Firefox 19.0 release.
When a new release is posted there should be an easy way to return to a previous version. I had automatic update set and I now have 20.0, It is not compatible with my companies enterprise system. I must roll back to 19. There is no easy way to find 19.
Rolling back to an older version is not supported, as it has security holes that are fixed in the newer version. Is there a specific issue you are having? We can help you address that issue.
I am in the IT department of a large company with about 1400 worldwide users running Oracle JD Edwards. With the new version 20 the JDE will not run. When opening the application it provides an icon that says "Opening Application" but never completes.
This is a big problem for our company as we need an easy way to support our customers to roll back to version 19.
As a company, you should consider using Firefox ESR. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
We can consider this in the future. The problem we have is that we cannot control the end user. Over 30% of the users are using non-company equipment or equipment owned by our customer. We cannot control what they use nor support non-company software. This also includes 4 different languages. At this location we cannot support all languages so our language support is at the local site. This limits us from controlling from only one central location.

I must get back to version 19 ASAP. How do I do this?
I am not sure I entirely follow what you are saying.
Presumably you do not anticipate your JDE software becoming compatible with Firefox 20
You are talking about 1400 users and implying that you can not control what 30% of them use. You then continue to ask about Firefox 19. You should not be downgrading the 70% of users using your equipment or the other 30% to Firefox 19. Ordinary users will upgrade correctly to Firefox 20. You should strongly consider
- switching all your users to Firefox 17 ESR
- recommending to the remaining 30% that they use fx17ESR because your software is not compatible with the Firefox Release
We can not recommend ordinary users use Firefox 17 ESR and do not provide full support for that. However you may yourself provide support and assistance to such users from your own site. An easy option could be to to suggest they install Firefox Portable as an additional browser for use on your site, whilst retaining the Firefox Release for their day to day browsing.
Additionally as a side issue please note that at present some corporate users not using ESR are having problems, with Firefox 20. Currently Firefox 20 is broken when Storing a profile remotely via a UNC path. Firefox developers are aware of many thousands of machines affected by this problem. (Bug 857672 - Address Bar not working ) The problem will be fixed in Firefox 21, and may even warrant a "chemspill" fix for Firefox 20.
If for a few days Firefox 19 is needed see
For US Windows 32 this is the best answer.
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/19.0/win32/en-US/
Thanks to our internal help desk for finding this on the website.
That ftp link is contained in the article I linked to.
As you have been warned old versions are not supported and become insecure. Any security fixes in a current release are reported and publicised and so may potentially be exploited. As an enterprise using Firefox 17 ESR is recommended instead as the correct solution.
Update on the Firefox 20 issue: 20.0.1 expected to be released next week as a fix.
John99, 20.0.1 did not fix the problem. I too have several users using JD Edwards thru Firefox. Version 20.0 broke the java functionality in JDE. Our company had mandated that everyone use Firefox because of its speed compared to IE. Chrome was quick too, but did not support all the JD Edwards functionality. Now, since 20.0, we have had to ask our users to go back to IE, which is incredibly inefficient compared to Firefox 19. You can point your finger at Oracle and they can point their finger at Mozilla, but the simple fact of the matter is that JD Edwards did work on version 19 and now it doesn't.
Hi jjardina and dxrogers, I saw a post on the JDELIST site indicating that JDE will run in Firefox 20 if you send an earlier version user agent string.
JDEList - JD Edwards EnterpriseOne: Firefox 20...
I can't test this, but if you could have someone make the manual about:config entry described in that post, you could quickly determine whether that workaround is viable. Firefox updates will not disturb that setting, so this could be a permanent fix, er, workaround.
(For a more step-by-step example of how to set this up, see the following, which was in the context of a bank site so your hostname will differ: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../955784#answer-426248)

jscher2000, that did it!!! JD Edwards now works with Firefox 20.0.1 when you lie to JDE about what version you are running. Thanks so much for your help!
I hope someone here at Mozilla has contacts in Oracle so this problem can be resolved in future releases.
Thanks again!
jjardina,
Sorry you are still having problems.
I am afraid I do not know anything about JDE but these general comments may help.
20.0.1 did not fix the problem.
That was for a specific fix for problems with UNC paths. It is not something likely to affect home users with single standalone PCs.
I too have several users using JD Edwards thru Firefox. Version 20.0 broke the java functionality in JDE.
The blocked Java may; at your risk; be easily unblocked:
Our company had mandated that everyone use Firefox because of its speed compared to IE. Chrome was quick too, but did not support all the JD Edwards functionality. Now, since 20.0, we have had to ask our users to go back to IE, which is incredibly inefficient compared to Firefox 19.
If you wish to support your clients and users with installation and use of Firefox 17 ESR will that solve your problem (Consider portable as mentioned upthread).
You can point your finger at Oracle and they can point their finger at Mozilla, but the simple fact of the matter is that JD Edwards did work on version 19 and now it doesn't.
Firefox has an 18 week development cycle, and for the last 12 weeks of that new features are probably not added. They are released as Aurora then Beta versions that should give everyone time to test them out.
Do you know from your research or from contact with JDE what the change is in Firefox that is affecting JDE ?
Preferably with the Firefox {bugzilla} bug number & title.
If it helps here are the Release notes
N.B. if it is the problem: the Java blocking may be changed by the user as mentioned above. This may be done on a per site basis if it helps.
Well I have issue: you´ve fixed bug 254139 in FF18 and now add-on made by Gavin Sharp https://github.com/gavinsharp/SaveAsFilename does not work.
Also you super cool developer, your blueing FF theme in version 4.0 forced me to use this persona http://ffaddons.game-point.net/ff3ff4/ and now in version 20 it is broken. AGAIN!
Could you, please, include FF3 sking along with new one in installation package, so users can choose, which one to use?

Hi Robin_WH, the SaveAsFilename extension still works for me. Can you make sure the extension wasn't disabled during the upgrade?
