My hard disk is dying (rapidly) and I need to replace it ASAP with a new one. I have the new hard drive on hand and have all my personal stuff saved to a second (backup) drive. But I also have many, many open tabs / window sessions of Mozilla Firefox up. How do I backup my current browsing session - complete with all active windows and tabs - to my backup drive. Then how do I import that session over to my new hard drive after I've installed it ? I'm running Windows7 and will reinstall it on the new drive.

Session data is stored in the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
