I want to reduce the amount of internal storage Firefox uses on my Droid

I've moved Firefox to the 2nd partition on the SD-Card using Link2SD. Of the total data volume of more than 54Mb, nearly 28Mb is still on the internal storage. The cache is reported as empty (by Link2SD), so I've had a look at what all this data is. In data/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla/dm7b0omf.default/cache there's 12.59Mb. Is this really a cache?

What can I safely delete? Is there an option to clear data on exit?

Viewsonic V350, 157Mb RAM (!), Android 2.3.7, Firefox 23.0, installed today and already filled my phone!

Thanks for any hints.

The cache is a copy of websites Firefox makes to allow reduce data usage and speed up website loading. It's mainly composed of images and resources that take a long to load and high data usage.

You can clear your cache easily, follow this steps:

  1. Tap {button Menu} > {button More} > {button Settings}
  2. Tap the Clear cache item and tap OK to delete your cache.

The following tutorial demonstrates how to clear all of your private data from Firefox for mobile.

Thanks for the hint. I'd already tried this, and i just tried it again, but it doesn't help too much. Even when the cache is empty, Firefox is still using a total of 50.19Mb of storage of which 23.57Mb is "data" in my precious internal storage. And of course as soon as I use Firefox it fills up even more.

Would it not be possible to store all this data on the SD-card?

I've been a Firefox user for many years, and now that it's available for my Droid I would like to use it there too, but if this data issue isn't solved, I'll have to uninstall and go back to the stock browser :-(
