How to prevent Hotspot Shield extension version 3.19 from installing automatically(when installing the windows app)? if that can't be prevented since it uses the registry.. can it at least be disabled all the time? it enables itself each time you start Hotspot Shield application.

Hmmm, I thought if you disabled an extension it would stay disabled...

It might be that the application is using the user.js file to re-enable it when you restart Firefox. You didn't include the output of the Troubleshooting tool with your post, but you could check manually to see whether you have a user.js file and, if so, whether it contains a line relating to this extension. This article has the steps: How to fix preferences that won't save.

Some applications also have internal control panels or settings dialogs to manage their browser add-ons, so that might give you an opportunity to turn it off.

If you can't easily tame this, you might reconsider whether this application really is the best tool for the job.

This one enables itself each time you start the Hotspot Shield windows application. The settings save just fine. In fact the only workaround for this, is to run firefox first then the HSS(Hotspot Shield) that way the extension will remain disabled for that session, but once you restart firefox, it will be enabled again(since you've run HSS).

Another work around, is running HSS first then firefox, disabling the extension, restarting firefox. That way the extension will remain disabled until the next time you start HSS, but it's not practical.

And it doesn't have any internal control panels or settings for the firefox extension.

Well, it's the best for the job and it can be tamed, but as you can see it's not an easy process. I'm looking for a way to keep the extension disabled all the time.
