You can consider to disable automatic cache management and set a lower maximum value for the cache.

You can do that here:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and paste them into your response here.

Thank you for your help!

More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

What max value do I need to set ?

Choose any figure you like for now. The crashes themselves are likely to be more important and I suspect reducing the figure for the maximum cache will not help with the crashes.

None of them start with bp..here is the first one, if it helps.... c29bfooc-e837-4c46-99dc-d7e85f950d6b date-02-04-2014, time-11:37 p.m.

The ones starting with bp- are the ones we need. They are ones that have been submitted and may get some processing to make them useful to us.

I have often seen it mentioned that clicking on unsubmitted ones may submit them, although personally I am not certain that works, and I could not make that happen last time I tried. No doubt cor-el will explain about that.

Certainly bad crashes may interfere with crash Reporting and may result in no submission or corrupted / empty data being sent.

Meanwhile

  • Please test in Firefox's safe mode
  • AND with all plugins including Flash Player disabled.

That may prevent the crashes or allow a Crash report to be submitted.

Please post back with how you get on.
