I've been sent a you tube site by email. When I click on it, from email, the site opens. However when I cut and paste the site into Firefox it says Your Search - xxxxx - did not match any options. Now I used cut and paste so I know it's correct. I also know the site works and my husband and friends can open this same site from their browsers. I went into Firefox Options, to security, to Allowed Sites and added YouTube. Still won't open. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Hello, I did as requested, cleared cache and cookies. Still can't get any youtube sites except as a link sent to me in email. This problem is not restricted to Firefox - when I use IE or chrome I cannot access youtube. So I suspect it is related to Norton. I do not particularly want Norton but this is a new computer and it came with Norton installed. I had thought I'd wait until they start dunning me to pay for it and then uninstall it. However maybe I should do this now. Or might there be other causes? Thanks,
