Can I set Firefox to stop automatic load and play for advertsements with audio??

Increasingly advertisements on websites that I like are auto playing audio content. I would like my browser to shut those down and only play if I click on those ads.

You can set Flash Player to "Click to Activate":

  1. Click either the Firefox button or the Tools menu and choose Add-ons, then Plugins.
  2. Set Shockwave Flash to "Ask to Activate".

You can also control this setting per-site:

  1. Right-click an empty area of the page and choose View Page Info, then Permissions.
  2. Configure the setting for Activate Plugins.

When you click a Flash element to activate it, all Flash elements on the page are activated as well. If you want per-element control, use either of the following add-ons:
