install is hanging on import

I had an infection that crashed firfox and prevented uninstall from working under programs and features in win 7.

Infection is gone and I manually uninstalled firefox by removing all mozilla instances in the registry.

Now I downloaded and started an install. For 15 minutes now the install says "importing" and the last thing on the list is favorites.

Any thoughts?

But did your installation of Firefox was successful? If not. Clear the cache and restart your computer.
