Do not like the new look...

Why on earth did Mozilla try to make Firefox look like Internet Explorer?? The refresh button is now way over at the end of the address bar - very inconvenient (I kept the back, forward, stop/refresh, home, and print buttons at the left end of the address bar - it made them all MUCH more convenient to use). The back/forward buttons combined and unable to be relocated. Why is it that companies or groups feel the need to change the way something looks, when people like it just the way it is??

There was no need whatsoever to make Firefox look like another browser. The reason that we use it is BECAUSE it is different. I truly hope that someone will come to their senses and put things back the way they were.

First, thanks for saying it looks like Internet Explorer. That's a change from Chrome. :) Kidding....I need to put a joke once in a while or else I'll go crazy from doing Firefox support. :)

The interface you see in Firefox 29 is a major re-design (first one since Firefox 4) of Firefox's user interface called "Australis." We could argue about the UI similarity between 29 and Chrome (or in your case, Internet Explorer) but what good would that do? Main point is that Firefox is still way more customizable than Google/Microsoft and way more secure.

If you don't like the new Australis look, you can revert back to the view before Australis using the Classic Theme Restorer addon

I already installed that addon. The problem is that the refresh/stop button cannot be moved and it is extremely irritating to have to away from the other buttons. Who honestly thought it was a good idea to move it all the way to the other end of the address bar??

Since we are on the subject, who decided that it even needed a redesign?? It was fine the way it was. Now, find a way for me to be able to move the refresh/stop button out of the address bar to a location that I prefer.

people here in the forum are overwhelmingly fellow firefox users volunteering their time to help out, so a less commanding tone-fall would be appropriate...

I too feel that the need for a complete redesign was stupid. The old look was perfect as it was. Why they had to go and change it is way beyond me. I had to revert to FF28 by downloading it from another site, I didn't know about the addon until afterward. Until they put the old look back, I am going to refuse to update.
