Amanda, do you mean that Thunderbird does not notify you about new e-mail, even when the program is running?
Is the problem similar to this one?
it was the same as that but am using my isp address and yes it did work a couple of times so did what you suggested. did not work for me but will see if maybe a reboot might help. I am using Windows 8.1.
unless Thunderbird is running it will not notify you of new mail. Ever!
If your expecting windows to notify you, you must use the mail app on the windows metro screen. Thunderbird is a desktop application. Not an App
