I have a single Outlook email set up to route mail to folders and only mail from my contacts to the Inbox.

It's a good setup. I check folders when I feel like it. Junk much less. The inbox when it arrives.

I want Thunderbird to only notify for mail to my Inbox.

There does not appear to be a way.

I did try the NTFNTF add-on. It looks cool and has check boxes, but does nothing. I'm running the latest Thunderbird Version 128.6.1esr

For now, and perhaps forever, I just let my phone alert me. It only does inbox (the normal).

Using Thunderbirds junk filters is not an option for normal people who check and receive mail with more than just the one device!

So, is there something I missed or an add-on that I missed (and works for this version) ?

Hello all, i am as new as it comes to thunderbird, this program seemed nice, and simple for me to use and less "clutter" than other mail clients.

however i have a problem where i dont recive any mails at all? and i cant seem to use the phone app ither, i have tried to send myself a few mails and none of them has gone trough? I am a windows user and i find no info on how to fix this, i have done the server stuff and yet no change.

can someone please help me?

the most common error message i get is "User is Authenticated but not Connected" how that works is out of my mind? but i cant seem to make it go past this error message...

I have only been using Thunderbird since I got a new laptop early in November 2024.

I have just noticed today that all emails older than 14 days have vanished from my inbox! Also, some (but strangely, not all) older mails have vanished from various sub-folders I set up.

I searched the forum, but the answers I found relate to a setting that I do not have in Thunderbird.

I am using Sky email, which is an IMAP server. On my old laptop I used Outlook 2010 and old emails NEVER disappeared - when I look at it now, I can see all the mails which have vanished on Thunderbird. So I know they are still on the server.

Everything works fine but with one of the e-mail accounts I have problems because when I send an Email with the Android App the sent E-Mail will not be stored in the sent folder. I know where I can check this in the app but it doesn't work. Maybe you can help me. My email provider is extromail.de

Cannot print emails

I am unable to print emails - the dialogue hangs at print preview screen where nothing is displayed apart from the circling wheel. Same for all accounts.

Fedora Linux 41 / KDE Plasma 6.2.5 / Graphics platform Wayland / Thunderbird 128.6.0-1.fc41

Thunderbird will not print to either printer (Epson Workforce Pro - WF-5110 or HPLaserJet P2015dn) rendering Thunderbird impossible to use fully.

Printers always:

  • print a test page successfully
  • print in all other apps including LibreOffice
  • print web pages
  • print same emails using Kmail client (installed as 2nd client if only to print emails as workaround)

Print using system dialogue does not work from Thunderbird (most options greyed-out including Print).

  • reinstalling printers makes no difference
  • reinstalling Thunderbird makes no difference

Cause: configuration setting or permissions issue or....

I'm out of options and can't think of anything else to try. As a long-term user of Thunderbird (>12 years) I'd really like to get this working. Thanks, Ric

Since last week Thunderbird is not synchronizing all emails from Google Workspace. Even with google authentication, smtp allowed and device registered with Google workspace, we are only able to synchronize old emails, and very few new emails.

I have rolled back versions of Thunderbird and tested on multiple machines, including a clean new installation of Windows.

Any help on this one?

My vps is located in a bad ip range so some emails get blocked. Testing a third party email service and TB still checks my SSL for the TTL connection and I have to add an exception to use the service. Exceptions are a pain because the certificate renews every 90 days.

Log in info name@mydomain.com but the mail server is set to use mail.mail-service.com.

How can I force TB to seek and use the TTL from mail-service.com.

If I create an address list in Address Book, I'm unable to send email to its members by the methods described in the documentation:

  • Bulleted list itemIf I highlight the list and click Write, I get a new message with nothing in the To box.
  • Bulleted list item If I click Write and look in the contacts sidebar, the address list isn't in the list - it just has individual addresses, and some very old address lists
  • Bulleted list itemIf I right-click the address list, I don't get any options like "Add to To" - just Edit list, Print, Export and Delete.

Has the functionality changed? Is my list not being saved for some reason? (The list name is just letters, no spaces etc.)

I use Thunderbird for emails in Windows 10 on my PC and today I looked for an email that I received in October 2024 to view the attachments that I know were included with it. However there were no attachments and no symbols to indicate that there are attachments. The same thing happened several months ago and I wondered if I have inadvertently changed a setting to cause this. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

3 email addresses are set up to send and receive in Thunderbird. Only one email address is having an issue with RECEIVING emails to Thunderbird. Emails can be sent from that address. There are no other issue with the other two email addresses. Also I am able to access the emails I do NOT see in Thunderbird on my phone in my gmail account.

I tried restarting Thunderbird and it did not help.

I am using Thunderbird 128.6.1esr (64-bit) on an iMac running 14.6.1 (23G93)

Again, I am having an issue with only ONE of the three email addresses.

I see there is an option to have a delivery and read receipt when you send an email....like the viber 2 ticks ✓✓ ...so you can see if the receiver has received or read the email. (Not the the one you ask him to send or not a read receipt like a reply). I have the option with the ticks checked on the new email window...but where to i see these 2 ticks if the email has been delivered ? If i remember correctly in the distant past there was an option to have this displayed like a column on the view panel so you could check it easily.

When opened TBird will not automatically load any incoming emails from Optus Webmail server .. and i cannot use the :Get mail" option in TBird ( no response) .. has been like it for few weeks. until today , i have not been able to write and send mail in TBird... it is doing that ok at moment , but not downloading any mail from Optus Webmail server . i can go to Webmail server via Google browser and see all the incoming emails waiting to be downloaded ,and i can read them and reply from Webmail server .. from Webserver i can also create new mail and send to recipients (all except TB which does not show any incoming mail ). so ,the Optus Webmail server is working ok , but TB will not connect to Webmail server .. when opened TB flashes a message "no Messages Found " . in conversation with Optus ,they claim many other users same problem, and they told me" Thunderbird has serious problems world wide and Thunderbird are trying to fix the TB software to get it to run properly". is what they say correct ? if you are not able to comment , i will have to assume TB does have problems .. HELP ... PLEASE ..

Is there a problem using Thunderbird with Windows 7?

Over the last few months, sending and receiving emails has developed a problem with it taking ages. This isn't all the time, just occasionally, but it is often enough to be irritating. I never had this problem before. My pc uses Windows 7 - has an update to Thunderbird been produced that doen't like the old OS? Should I go back to an older version of Thunderbird? I have a similar problem (not working with Win 7) with other programs (eg Garmin), and I have to ignore notification of updates on them to keep them working. The older version of Garmin works fine with Win 7.

Please note I use Mailwasher before I start Thunderbird. Mailwasher allows me to see if there are any emails waiting for me on (I assume) my ISP's server. I can then delete those I dont want or are suspicious of, before they get on my pc. Having deleted those, I can then start Thunderbird, and I tell Thunderbird to download the remaining emails, not Thunderbird downloading automatically. I dont have any problems with Mailwasher itself, just the moving either way of emails
