The top lines of the display page for my email has dropped 2 lines. the top line is the File Edit View line. The second is the line with Get Messages Write. They have disappeared and I cannot get them back. I need instructions on how to restore the front to its original configuration please

Are you a Windows user? The following is for Windows, and also applies to Linux. I'm not sure if Mac users have these options, nor if they get these problems.

  • Press the F10 or the alt key and the menu bar should appear. In that menu, go to View|Toolbars and tick the checkboxes for Menu Bar and then again for Mail Toolbar.
  • Alternatively, a right-click near the top of the Thunderbird window will bring up a pop-up menu with similar options.

I'd suggest you repeat this procedure in the Address Book and in the Write window. I consider Thunderbird unusable without a full and visible menu.
