I have 2 pcs 1 new & an older one. Of the 2 the older one updated last night sometime as I found when I turned it on yesterday morning. So now I have the new 78.5.0 running on it. Now for the new pc, I found a link for the old TB Version 68.12.1, so I installed it and just as I was getting it completely installed something pops up on the screen that looked funny and now I have the new version 78.5.0 that has overwritten version 68 I just installed. So I restored the PC using Win 10 Restore to an earlier time and then reinstalled 68.12.1 and it is or it seems to be running OK now.

So how do I keep the newest version 78.5.0 from rewriting the old 68.12.1 until I’m ready to get into version 78.5.0?

I don’t know if this makes any difference when an update comes the box showing the release says I’m on the early release channel what ever that is?

I do not see any place where I have a box to check as they used to have stating don’t install just notify me an update is available.

check this linked webpage, and find a suitable option to disable Thunderbird auto-update, (please upvote my Q+A inside that linked webpage, if its helpful)

if you disable auto-update, then you can update manually when you want to do it.

if popup notice appears on screen to Update Thunderbird, then please just select the option to do it later, OR , find the option to disable popup notice/notification, here inside this webpage.
