You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to the profile folder below:

• Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder

I deleted the prefs java script and restarted Firefox, but still came to the blank tab. No dice. The home tab still brings up Google, but FF will not start on that page.

I also just updated to the most recent shockwave player. Not sure how to get rid of the old one. I figured that would be part of the upgrade?

Try to reset Firefox. This'll save all of your bookmarks, passwords ,etc but will wipe out your Extensions. Please make a list of these.

he Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

• Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Even that did not work. Restarted FF after reset and opened Google. Then dragged address into home icon. Checked to make sure box is checked to show my homepage when FF starts.... Nothing. Blank tab. Grr.

should I re-install Firefox?

Deleted and re-installed FF. Opens with correct home page now. Thank you for all of your help. Something must have gone wrong with the initial upgrade.
