How do I have the address book displayed when on the write page

For some reason I can't get the address book to show when I am in the write window. If I start to type the address it will give me a choice of names from the address book but I can't get it to display itself when I am typing.

Chosen solution

When you have the Write window open press F9 to display the Contact Sidebar. F9 toggles it on and off.

If you display the address book first, you can right-click the name you want and choose Write. There is an Address Book button in the customize window for the main window toolbar.
