How can I configure firefox so I can open files immediately without having to dowload and then open?
When I click on a link to a file (pdf, jpg, csv, etc...) I have to save it first and then open the download from the downward arrow key on my toolbar. How do I stop this so the file opens automatically?

You can only open a file with a specific application if the file is send by the server with a content stpye that the application supports. This is usually not the case for files that are meant to be downloaded.

Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

- Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0
You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.
