how do i change my font size in e-mails?

when i am trying to write an e-mail, the font size is so small, i can hardly read it. i have went in and tried to enlarge the size, but when i go back and start typing the e-mail, its right back to the tiny font. any suggestions? im not sure if i may have done something unknowinly, or what it is. just so you know, i am not very tech savvy, lol. but if you put things in step by step form, i feel i can follow the directions lol. being serious! thank you

You haven't mentioned which mail it is, If it is G-mail go to settings --> general tab--> default text style , you can change your font size & then save at the bottom of the page
