How do you get rid of the malmare on a Mac? just got it only on this browser with latest update a couple of days ago. thanks.
Only recently, with the last upgrade, I was infected with a malware that gives me ads I cannot get rid of when I log on to FF. Okay it may have come from another site by coincidence.
Does anyone with a Mac know how I can get rid of it? I really want to keep using Mozilla Firefox.
Thank you.

Hello,
You'll have to be more specific. Do you know the name of it? If not, go to your about:support page by entering it in your address bar and pressing enter, or going to:
- Help (or > ) > Troubleshooting Information
Then click "Copy Text to Clipboard" and paste that information here.
If you don't have many extensions and don't mind going to download them and setting them up again, you can Reset Firefox. The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: After resetting Firefox, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Reset Firefox:
- Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
- If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
- At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox" that looks like this: . Click on it.
- Firefox will close and reset. After it is done, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
- Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Thank you.
EDIT: How did you update your Firefox? If you downloaded a new copy but didn't download from the official Mozilla website:
Then you will need to uninstall and reinstall Firefox by downloading a new copy from one of those two links.
