how to make sure that my firefox updates to "release" version only as I don't want the beta, aurora, nightly, ERB versions.Presently mine version is 35.0.1
I have gathered that Firefox has different release channels viz. beta , aurora, nightly, ERB and Release of which the release version is the most stable . So I want my firefox browser to update the stable versions only i.e.against only the release version and not any other version ? How do I do it ? Would anyone pleasen helpme ? Thanking you.

By downloading a Release version to be on Release channel.
A Release version would never give a update to a build on Beta, Aurora, Nightly or the ESR channels. A build on one channel does not get a update from another channel.
Modified
Note that the channel-prefs.js file in the \defaults\pref folder in the Firefox program folder determines the what update channel this Firefox installation has.
