I have tryed: Clean install (with removing of C:prog..\mozilla) Uninstalling and deleting extensions Restarted Firefox in safe mode without addons/extensions. Uninstalling/updating flash/adobe

I can start firefox, but when i press the "+" to open a new tab Firefox closes and "Mozilla Crash-report" window opens. It seems like firefox it self can open a tab. For example when i do a fresh installation, Firefox opens with 2 tabs.

But when i want to open one it fails and Firefox shuts down. Its really wierd because i have never run in to this kind of problem before and i dont recall installing anything new before this problem showed up.

What is the setting of the new tab page?

You can check the browser.newtab.url pref on the about:config page. You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Thx! For some reason the string was set to "about:newtab" or something like that. Changed the name to my default homepage and the problem was fixed. Any ideas on why this happend? I didn't change it myself.

Never the less! Thank you for saving my haircolour from turning gray of frustration. Was worried i had to turn to Chrome or.... IE....
