How do i get my bookmarks to show back up on the actual bookmark toolbar, even though they still exist in the bookmark toolbar drop down menu?

So i accidentally removed the bookmark toolbar, but when i enabled it again, my bookmarks were gone. However they are still in the drop down bookmark menu under "Bookmark Toolbar." How do i get them to show back up on the actual toolbar? I have restarted Firefox, restored defaults in Firefox, tried dragging & doping them onto the toolbar, & just flat out re-adding the sites, but nothing worked. How can i fix this? Thanx in advance!

Chosen solution

I do notice a bookmark star button on the "3-bar" Firefox menu button list as the last icon at the bottom.

Does that button has the Bookmarks Toolbar items tooltip?

Try to click the Restore Defaults button in the Customize window.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
  • View > Toolbars
Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
  • Right-click empty toolbar area

Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button to restore the default toolbar setup

I tried these suggestions but it didn't solve the issue. The Bookmark toolbar is enabled/visible (in picture provided) but nothing is showing up on it.

Do you see the Bookmarks Toolbar item on the Bookmarks Toolbar if you open the customize window?

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • View > Toolbars > Customize
Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

No they don't show up when in the customize window.

The places.sqlite file is not marked "read only" either.
