I noticed that a new toolbar was on my webpage earlier this week, and that my homepage was now the yahoo search page. I removed the toolbar, but each time I open the browser, the home page is still set to that yahoo search page. I uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox, ran my cleaners several times, but no change. I reset the homepage to my preference in the Options page several times, but still no change. This issue is not happening with my other browsers, and I can't understand why it is happening with Firefox. I have read several of the articles in the support section that sounded like the issues that I am experiencing, but no change. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi, if Yahoo keeps coming back, it's very likely that malware is still left behind, so try these free programs which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Note that not all programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

When your PC is clean, you may then need to reset your search to default, which you can do by running SearchReset.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
