Does this occur in Thunderbird Safe mode? In Thunderbird 'Help' > 'Restart with addons disabled'
Please report back on results.
Did it with same results
Cant figure this one out Have read many threads on help sites
Thank you again for your help
Lets see if this is something that has got stuck in the profile files.
In thunderbird
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- click on 'show folder' button
a new window opens showing the contents of your profile folder name.
- Close thunderbird now - this is important
scroll down - locate and delete all of the following files.
- global-messages-db.sqlite
- foldertree.json
- panacea.dat
- session.json
- xulstore.json
when you restart thunderbird, these files will be recreated. Start Thunderbird. allow a little time for those files to get recreated.
Thank you again The missing forward/replied emails did not appear However, when I restart Thunderbird the newer forward/replied emails did not disappear this time
re :the newer forward/replied emails did not disappear this time That's a step in the right direction and good feedback.
Let's try to see if the older forward/replied emails are still in the profile folder. Please do not compact any folders - this is important.
In thunderbird
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- click on 'show folder' button
a new window opens showing the contents of your profile folder name.
- Close thunderbird now - this is important
- click on 'Mail' folder.
- click on mail account name
You will see mbox files - they have no extension and have the same name as your folder in the folder pane. These files contain emails. You will see .msf files, these are indexing files - no emails. If you have any subfolders, you will see *.sbd folders. These folders contain more mbox and .msf files.
- Open the relevant mbox file using 'Notepad'.
So if the missing emails were in the 'Inbox', open that file.
Emails are written to the file, one after the other, in the order they were downloaded, so newest will be at the bottom. Use Notepads 'Edit' > 'Find' to help you search. If you can remember the eg: subject, type part of it to try to locate those missing emails.
Each email will start with lines similar to this example:
- From - Sun Dec 28 18:14:40 2014
- X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
- X-Mozilla-Status2: 00800000
Assuming you locate an email that is 'missing' : Please copy what you see in these two lines and paste into this question :
- X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
- X-Mozilla-Status2: 00800000
Note: the numbers you see will probably be different, but I need to know them.
The outcome of this will be to determine whether the emails exist but are not displaying. I can then advise on what to do next.
Hey
\Mail I get these files:
Local Folders pop.googlemail-1.com pop.googlemail-2.com pop.googlemail-3.com
In each the above Inbox = 0kb (empty) Inbox.msf 2kb (overhead?)
I made a copy of the details and uploaded it
Thanks again
How many pop gmail accounts are listed in your Folder Pane? In other words, how many mail accounts have you got in Thundrebird that are pop gmail accounts?
In your profile folder name you have these mail account names folders:
Open each folder. Post an image showing the contents of each mail account name. Make sure the image also contains the name of the folder.
