How do I know if a firefox update really comes from Mozilla?

I got a message saying there was an update to Firefox, and started downloaded it but did not install it. When the user account control window comes up to ask if I want to run it, the publisher is "unknown" - which is why I'm asking, is this really a Mozilla update?

Chosen solution

The desktop Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux are done in Firefox itself or by download from www.mozilla.org

Updates are not done by way of a .exe from random sites especially since Firefox is not just for Windows.

You appear to have Firefox 42.0 which is the current Release version from Mozilla. There are no updates for 42.0 planned before the Firefox 43.0 (December 15) Release that I am aware of.
