Not finding "All mail" under Local Folders
I have Windows10. The folder I found is: C;\Users\George\AppData\Roaming\Thnderbird\Profiles\iwt8luue.default\Mail\Local I copied the file there (All Mail Including Spam and Trash) The instructions said I should then find it in Thunderbird when I ope it under the "Local Folders" but it is not there. Help?

All Mail is a special gmail folder and I doubt that you can move it any place you desire. What are you trying to accomplish by doing this?
I am changing jobs and will lose my Gmail login and computer there. I want to back up my Gmail to another computer so I can still access all the information I have built up over the years.
I found a posting that said to use Thunderbird to download Gmail Data. I followed the instructions and it created a file, but it states it needs to be in Thunderbird to open.
Is there an easier way or can you let me know what else I need to do? Thank you.
Create a new folder under Local Folders and just drag and drop the messages there. You can also select the message in All Mail and then right click and use Move To or Copy To.
I would try this with just a few messages first to make sure you are getting the complete message and not just the header and that the message is readable in the new folder.
It might be safer to use copy instead of move so the message is still in the All Mail folder in case the move has a problem. Hold the control key while drag and drop for copy. You should see a + sign beside the file to indicate a copy instead of a move.
You do have to add the gmail account to Thunderbird so you see your folders on the gmail server.
