FF updated itself to v.45.0 on 11 Mar '16 and again on 18 Mar '16 to v45.0.1 Since the 11 Mar update I have not been able to access my bank account. Never a problem with previous version of FF, so how can I go back to the version previous to v. 45.0/45.0.1? Bank online techs assure me it is a browser issue, not their fault. I've tried all kinds of advice, none resolve the issue.

Hello davestexas, check in about:config if the dom.storage.enabled is True (default).

Did you also try to rename the cookies.sqlite to cookies.sqlite.old in firefox profile folder ? Delete if you find others cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal or cookies.sqlite-shm or cookies.sqlite-wal. Any luck ?

thank you

Do you get an empty page or do you get a page with an error message?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Attempted to sign-on to the bank account today. Actually got farther then I've been able to for weeks using FF. With that 'farther attempt' I called the bank online tech and got someone there who knew her stuff. I took about 20min to finally solve, but she solved the problem and I was able to use FF again. We rebooted my pc from completely Off, then she wiped out all my account online credentials. I redid everything and ....voila! I appreciate the responses posted here. Thanks a lot Dave
