on Thunderbird 52.1.1 (32 bit), I've some issues on search, so I deleted global-messages-db.sqlite in order to rebuild it. But after 15 minutes the database is still the same (the dimension does not increase), the activity register still say "individuazione dei messaggi da indicizzare in posta inviata" and the cpu usage bu thunderbird.exe is very low..

What can I do ? Thanks

Chosen solution

I regularly rebuild the index s I use nightly builds of Thunderbird and it always just works.

I can only think of a few reasons it might not.

1. You have turned the option off in the options. (check the setting in options> advanced > general) 2. You have an anti virus product that is interfering with the process (try windows afe mode as they are very intrusive) 3. You have an add-on that in not behaving. (try restarting with add-ons disabled from the help menu)

press F5 to have windows update the view of the file you are looking at.

Note the rebuild could take all day, depending on your computer and the amount of mail involved.

I've already done this operation on previous version oh TB, and it worked. With the last one, the DB is just created but it remains "empty".
