I'm trying to block access to browse the hard drive in firefox. Googling I have found methods that require modifying a chrome\browser.js file, however I don't see this file in the installation folder, maybe that used to work for older versions.

Any idea how this can be done in newer versions?

Thanks.

Use a limited user account having no administrative permissions when you browse the Internet, or browse from a virtual machine.

Users do have limited user accounts and are not administrators, however Firefox does not care about that. It will show the drive contents by just typing "C:\" in the address bar (redirects to "file:///c:/").

And, unfortunately, a virtual machine is not an option.

You would have to run in a sandbox environment that doesn't allow access to local files.

Thank you. I will research about sandboxing and if it fits the needs of my organization.
