Intel(R) HD Graphics Family your drivers are from 8-31-2011 so I can tell you you will not be seeing much soon. driverVersion: 8.15.10.2509 https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/products/80939/graphics-drivers.html You also have a bunch of errors in the drivers I can see. This will cause all sorts of issues all over the place, if not now will be soon enough as video is now highest thing used on web pages. You will not be able to keep up.
Where are you getting these versions from ? Are they the Stub Installer (about 6megs) ?
Download 56.0.2 Full Version Installer from here : https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
Though with the age of your video card drivers am sure the motherboard drivers have never been updated nor sound how about network card ?
If you start experiencing too many issues running new versions of Firefox it is suggested you move to the Extended Release Version 52.4.1 It does not get any fancy updates, just security only. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/
Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Hmm, I don't know what is causing that. Are other parts of Firefox working normally, such as bookmarks and history?
Does it help to temporarily blank the new tab page this way:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste newt and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.newtabpage.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false
Now when you press Ctrl+t or click the + button, the page should be blank except for the large wheel icon toward the upper right of the page.
Any better?
