Hello! I'm using TB to get my email with POP3 and kerberos/gssapi authentification. I noticed that "automatically download messages" not working if there is no saved password of this email-account. TB does not even try to connect with pop3-server. After I create saved password all works fine. (password can be anything, not necessarily correct)

At first I used the old version 24.1.0 of TB, then the last ver. 52.4.0. Behavior is same. I think there is some mistake in the code. Can developers verify this and correct (if it proves to be right)?

Thanks.

Have you set up the Pop mail account to use 'Global inbox' Local Folders ? If yes: Please check to see if you have selected the following: right click on 'Local Folders' and select 'Settings'

select the pop mail account 'Server Settings' click on 'Advanced' button You will see you have selected: 'Inbox for different account Global Inbox Local Folders'

check you have also selected: 'Include this server when getting new mail' click on 'OK' Click on 'OK' to save and close Account Settings.

Restart Thunderbird. Report back on whether this worked. If it works please select the 'Chosen Solution' option on this comment.

This does not solve my problem, because I needn't to set up the Pop mail account to use 'Global inbox' Local Folders.

Now I've checked your offer. It does not work either.

And only works if there is a saved password of this account.
