Can I disable notification dots from appearing in email tab icons?

Small blue dots appear beneath tab icons, presumably to indicate incoming mail or some change or other. I want to prevent these dots from appearing on my tab icons. Using Firefox for Mac OS, version 59.0.2 (64-bit).

Chosen solution

Hi, Please first update to the most recent version of Firefox, the update came out today for version 60.

The three dots sound like they are notifications showing up in the title of the tab. I did find this work around provided by jscher back when 57 came out: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1181537 that you can take a look at.

The other option may be to see if there is an option to turn it off from the email settings on the website that you use for email.

Have you also seen this add on? It may not be a perfect match, but does control a similar functionality: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../?src=search

Thank you very much guigs. The post https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1181537 fixed my problem! PS - I also updated to version 60 per your suggestion [this didn't fix the problem but is probably a good idea].
