Google search in the toolbar, opens in same tab, I dont appear to have an easy method to make it open in a new tab.

tab mix, the alternative I have found is not nearly as good. session manager, and its functionality needs to come back.

And Ive tried a few alternatives. The one I have found seems to do both, and while it will keep 10 sessions (tab session manager), it reverses the order of the tabs from the last session. I close FF again, and they reverse order, this time back to the correct order, being reversed, from reverse order. BUT, the first tab is always the same tab, correctly the first tab, and whatever tab I am focused on when i close FF, lets say tab 40, it always opens in the position of tab 2.

Its almost like each tab opens next to the focused tab, pushing the earlier opened tab further to the right. So the last tab opened is tab 3. This is also not readily changeable.

Like this, FF to me is broken, and lost its appeal. I dont think Im alone in it either.

Awesome. Thankyou thats one down 44 to go.

EDIT: Was set to true already, changed to false, same behaviour, changed back to true,no change still. So that setting hasnt fixed that. I had such high hopes I assumed it was the fix before trying it out.

Im using the little search window at the right of the taskbar... where it says false in the image attached...

I have added 'group speed dial' and 'tab session manager' to FF. They have changed some behaviours too .

browser.search.openintab works fine for me in the Search Bar when I use the Enter key. If you use the "arrow" in the Search Bar the search will open in the same tab with that pref set to either true or false. And I don't think that pref works at all in the URL bar for a search.

Now that did open it in a new tab. Thankyou, one down, 44 million to go.

Why did they break Firefox? Or am I just a dinosaur?
