Firefox hangs up while updating and I can't uninstall it to do a reinstall
My Firefox browser will not update. It downloads the update but when it installs the update, it just sits there saying "updating" and does nothing else. I let it run that way for well over a half hour and still nothing. I searched your website which suggested uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it. My laptop will not uninstall Firefox. I click on it and nothing happens. I click on the maintenance service to uninstall that and I get error messages saying that I do not have administrative ability. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I have tried restarting my laptop and browser numerous times and that does not help. Firefox still will not update nor uninstall. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi, if Firefox opens please backup :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
If it does not open copy your profile to a safe location :
Uninstall with : Please check that Firefox is not running in Task Manager and if is End Task https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html Reinstall with : Firefox current version 60.0.2 https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Firefox Extended Support 60.0.2esr https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switch-to-firefox-extended-support-release-esr Or the version of your choice : https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
Try installing Firefox over the existing installation, and use the full installation package, from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
As long as your current Firefox installation is in the default location, the new one should install over it.
Thank you for your assistance. I tried installing the uninstaller but though I was able to download it, it would not install. After multiple attempts, I decided to just try installing Firefox over the existing files. As the files were being extracted, it told me that there was not enough room on the disk. As I suspected, this is a lousy crappy laptop with extremely low memory. I did not realize until months after purchasing it that there was only 21GB of memory on it to begin with and most of that is used up with programs that I do not or cannot use. I've been trying to clean it up to no avail. It was only purchased to use for writing but I can't even do that on it anymore.
