How do I on my mac drop Yahoo search as opening window & open with Google window?

Always had Google opening window. Download another Garmin Express app and got a lot of junk with it. Got rid of all the junk except that the Yahoo window has replaced my Google window. I have use preferences to select Google and have deleted Yahoo search window from list. I still get opening window of Yahoo!!
