My Profile directory is hard-linked to a network location.

When I access Napster, it seems some widget is loaded and won't run from a linked-network location. So I can't run Napster in Firefox. A few days ago Sirius XM stopped presenting it's page in Firefox (a white screen). It works on another PC with the profile local, as it works fine with Opera and IE using a local profile directory.

Does anybody know what Sirius XM is not using because not of their support people know and point to Firefox (but I think it has to do with some wigit in Sirius XM on a PC)?

Thanks,

So was those problems reoccurring or random when using the browser - when access those sites?

Thanks. Sometimes it's hard to isolate failure across multiple technologies because they all rely on each other to some degree. In this case all other browsers work fine, except Firefox. However, only firefox is set up with a network "profile" rather than a local one. So, I'm thinking Firefox would have information regarding network "profile" issues.

Again, thanks.

Sirius XM problems should be directed to their support team. Any addons or extensions problems should be contacting their developer. Napster isn't a mozilla software so you have to contact their support for help on their software. This is a firefox browser End user help forum.

Things related to desktop Firefox can be asked here. Please stop telling people that their only option for support on a Extension or using a piece of hardware with Firefox is to look elsewhere.

This is a forum of Firefox users helping Firefox users in getting things working in or with Firefox.

Also the word Addons is a general term started during the Firefox 2.0/3.0 days to group together the separate Extensions, Plugins, Themes, search engines, dictionaries, language packs.

This might be about using local storage to store some components or other data.

Can't use use the Profile Manager to create a local profile folder on your own computer?

This is good thinking but the issue is, I think, some web components auto load into the FF profile then execute. It appears that recently Windows 10 is not allowing those components from the web page to run from a hard-link directory physically on the network. Everything runs fine if I keep my profile on the local machine, as does Opera, Chrome, & IE.

There are weird things happening on the Web these days that break intelligent decisions (like keeping the FF profile on my own server so I can use it from anywhere). Napster no longer works, Google doesn't work any longer from Express VPN (most of their servers), and now Sirius XM.

I was just hoping some FF people would have run into this local vs network profile issue and knew exactly what it was and how to resolve it, without restructuring all convenience and security we've built into our network.

Firefox collects error messages and warnings in two places, a Web Console specific to the current tab, and a Browser Console that collects messages from all windows and from add-ons. Perhaps one of those would have relevant information?
