How do I stop recurring registry errors from returning and slowing down my computer?

more options

Hi all. Seems like after updates, my computer slows down. It has become so recognizable, I know when the registry errors appear, as my computer performance falls off. I must use Reginout Registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner to restore performance. Along with any FireFox updates, my bookmarks have all been deleted many times over. I no longer attempt to re-install, as they continually get deleted, and so simple fix is available to me that I can understand. Thank you.

Hi Robert, What you're experiencing is not normal behaviour. First, let's try refreshing Firefox. This will purge a lot of your Firefox files, while retaining most of your personal data. For instructions, check out the following article: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Hi, If I understand correctly, your computer is performing slowly, and when you fix it using a third-party clean-up program, you lose Firefox bookmarks.

I don't think registry entries can delete Firefox bookmarks, but other forms of clean-up like CCleaner can. Look for a setting in CCleaner to exclude Firefox from the cleanup/scan.

If Firefox itself is running slow, could you try the solutions in the following article, and see if any of them help: Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down

In addition, back up your Firefox information, and try refreshing Firefox.

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.{web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.

If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.

Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.

I choose Firefox over all other systems. I enjoy Firefox except for this recurring issue. The registry errors seem to occur after Firefox updates are installed. This is when my computer runs slow, and also when my Bookmarks go missing, and not recoverable- after Firefox updates are installed. Then I use 3rd party cleaners (Reginout and CC Cleaner) , and slow running issues seem to become resolved temporarily, but I am unable to restore Bookmarks. I have attempted to alter settings on Firefox, as well as across the board on the various 3rd party cleanup programs I use, with no difference in results- Bookmarks can not be found or restored, I have seen this is an issue for numerous Firefox users- regular deletion of Bookmarks. I hope someone can help with this, as this is really my only issue with Firefox! Thank you! Robert C.
