What remote device? Steam has their own Apps. Are you going the steam site or App?

Just from my PC. To the steam site. Hasn't worked since the release of Civ VI Gathering storm exp on Thursday. Still works fine on my son's PC

So the Browser isn't the problem but the site and the steam game. If that is the case then you should contact Steam why that is causing issue on your computer. No two computers will behave the same alot depends on how is install is.

Check to see if your security isn't blocking as well and see if any addons aren't doing this as well.
