Firefox has history of websites visited during my logged session, even if I logged out of my firefox account. Can this be solved?

Hello all,

I have a firefox account. Here in our household we share a PC. So whenever, I browse using firefox, I always log into my specific firefox account, so that my browsing history remains private to other users using the browser at alater time. However, even if I am logged out, the firefox address bar still suggests the pages I visited during my logged in session and the history also has that record. How could I keep my browsing history private but still make it available to me on any other device as I log into my firefox account?

The community's help would be greatly appreciated. :)

If you are logged in to a Sync account then your history is uploaded to the Sync server. If you disconnect Sync then your current history is still on your computer, so you would have to remove. If you reconnect to Sync then the data on the Sync server will be updated to reflect your current history and history you had removed previously will also no longer be on the Sync server. So it would be very tricky to use Sync to transfer data to another account.

Logging into what? History is stored in your Firefox profile. This can only be accessed using your user account on the computer, so only someone with that access will see anything.

Others using Firefox on your computer using their own accounts will have no access to yours unless they have administrator privilege.

Thank you. By logging I meant logging into my firefox account in the browser. I was actually thinking if there is only one user account and the firefox browsers stores history as per different firefox accounts.

Use the Firefox private browsing or create a new local account in your PC with a password!!
